El artista visual G. Colón en una de sus tantas salidas exploratorias por las periferias de la ciudad, encuentra arrojados en un basural clandestino lo que al parecer son las pertenencias de un sujeto, ciudadano chileno, que habría oficiado como radio técnico y cuyo nombre sería Hugo E. Cortez Oyarzún. La obsesión del artista por resolver el enigma de tan misteriosa desaparición culmina con una exposición que éste monta, a modo de registro de existencia, de alguien que cayó en la total indiferencia del anonimato, y cuyas pertenencias fueron a dar un basural.  La película documental es la reconstrucción por un lado de la labor artística de G. Colón que por medio de su quehacer reconstruye una hipotética vida, de un enigmático sujeto desaparecido, rindiéndole un póstumo homenaje; y por otro, acerca de lo desechable y la obsolescencia de personas y cosas en el mundo actual.

Synopsis:

Visual artist G. Colón, on one of his many explorations of the city’s outskirts, comes across items that appear to have pertained to a Chilean citizen with the occupation of radio technician and whose name was Hugo E. Cortez Oyarzún. These items were found in an illegal dumping ground. The need to resolve the enigma of this mysterious disappearance inspire the artist to mount an exhibition with the purpose of certifying the existence of a persona that fell into the pits of indifference, and whose belongings ended up in a dumping ground. On the one hand, this documentary film is the recreation of the artist’s work as he reconstructs the hypothetic life of an enigmatic missing person and thus pays him homage, and on the other hand, it draws us to the idea of what’s disposable and how people and things in our society today, have a way of becoming obsolete.

Filmography:

Guillermo Gonzalez was born in 1974. He has a Bachelor of Arts from the Pontific Catholic University of Chile and a Bachelor in Film Studies with mention in Direction, from the University of Valparaiso. Today he lives and works in Viña del Mar, Chile. He is currently director at Mosca_films and teaches at the Pontific Catholic University of Valparaiso and at the University of Valparaiso Film School. Among his works are "Patas de Kíltro" (2002), "Bajo el Sur" (2004), “Te Ganarás el Pan” (2005).
