Sinopsis:
Volviendo a las playas que han sido parte de su vida, Varda inventa un especie de autorretrato documental. Agnes se ubica entre los fragmentos de sus películas, imágenes y reportajes. Ella comparte con humor y emoción sus comienzos como fotógrafa teatral y luego como cineasta de la Nouvelle Vague, su vida junto a Jacques Demy, su feminismo, sus viajes a Cuba, China y los Estados Unidos, su vida como productora independiente y su vida familiar.
Ella es definitivamente una mujer libre y curiosa!
Notas de Agnes Varda sobre su film:
Que idea la de filmar un autorretrato a los casi 80 años. La idea me vino en las playas de Noirmoutier cuando me di cuenta que habían tantas playas que habían influido en mi vida. Estas playas son el hilo conductor de mis escrituras, mis amigos, familiares y otros, algunas partes de mi trabajo y de los acontecimientos de mi vida.
A una avanzada edad, muchos sienten la necesidad de relatar la vida que uno ha vivido.
Algunas palabras de Montaigne que me inspiraron en este proyecto:
“He prometido mi libro como bien tangible a mis parientes y amigos: al final cuando me pierdan (lo que seguro sucederá en poco tiempo mas) ellos podrán encontrar algún rastro de mi condición y humor, y de esa manera mantener, y animadamente fomentar las cosas que han sabido de mi.”
Mis hijos y nietos han accedido a participar en este cuadro y ayudarme a crear una familia de imágenes soñadoras.

Synopsis:
Returning to the beaches which have been parts of herlife, Varda invents a kind of self-portrait-documentary.Agnès stages herself among excerpts of her films, images and reportages.She shares with humor and emotion her beginnings as stage photographer, then as early filmmaker of the French New Wave, her life with Jacques Demy, her feminism,her trips to Cuba, China and the USA, her life as independant producer and her family life.A free and curious woman.
Agnes Varda's Notes on her film:
What an idea to film a self-portrait at nearly 80 years-old. The idea came to me one day, on a beach in Noirmoutier, when I realized how many other beaches had influenced my life. These beaches are the thread through which I chose to describe, to friends, family, and others, some of my work and the events of my life.
In old age, many feel the need to recount one’s life.
A few of old Montaigne’s words (foreword of the Essais, 1595) encouraged me in this project:
“I have vowed [my book] to the particular commodity of my kinsfolk and friends: to the end, that losing me (which they are likely to do ere long), they may therein find some lineaments of my conditions and humours, and by that reserve more whole, and more lively foster the knowledge they have had of me.”
My children and grandchildren agreed to come into the picture, and to help me create a family of dream-like images.
