Sinopsis:
Dos niños, de dos culturas muy distintas, viven en un país que no es el de sus padres. Ada viene de Chile y Kabir de la India. Ambos sirven de intérpretes a sus respectivas madres a la hora de relacionarse con el mundo laboral, en donde sólo pueden acceder a trabajos de aseo y limpieza, mientras ellos se educan en catalán en la escuela Pau Vila de Barcelona, donde el 95% de los niños son inmigrantes. Ada y Kabir son compañeros de escuela, y con los demás niños de su edad conviven y comparten independiente de sus diferencias culturales y gustos distintos. La realizadora Macarena Ovalle nos muestra un mundo en donde es posible la aceptación del otro, más allá del lugar de origen, en donde los hijos se educan en una lengua que no es la materna para así acceder a las oportunidades que sus padres no tuvieron ¿podrán en el futuro acceder a una mejor vida o también serán discriminados? Mientras tanto Ada y Kabir se hacen amigos y aprenden a tocar juntos el violín, hermanando a través de la música sus vidas.

Biofilmografía
Macarena Ovalle nace en 1980 en Santiago de Chile. En el año 2004 se titula como Periodista en la Universidad Diego Portales. Trabaja  en la productora Nueva Imagen y en el canal Etc Tv como Productora Periodística y Asistente de Dirección hasta el 2006 cuando decide viajar a Barcelona. Colabora el la selección de documentales para el festival Docupolis del 2006. Realiza estudios de Guión en la Escuela de Cine de Barcelona. Durante el 2008 estudia el Master en Documental y Sociedad en la ESCAC, donde dirige su primer documental "Ada y Kabir". Los derechos de emisión del documental son comprados por Televisión Española. Actualmente trabaja como Asistente de Dirección en el festival In Edit Chile, además de realizar un proyecto documental sobre unos jóvenes chilenos presos en Barcelona.

Two children from two different cultures live in a country that is not their parent’s native home. Ada comes from Chile and Kabir from India. Both are helpful translators for their mothers when they need to interact among the fork force, generally within the cleaning business. The children receive their education in Catalan at the Pau Vila School in Barcelona where 95% of the children are immigrants. Ada and Kabir are school mates and they spend their time with other children their age who also come from different cultures and have different tastes. The director, Macarena Ovalle, shows us a world where tolerance is possible in a world where the children learn a language that is not their mother tongue in order to have the opportunities that their parents never had. Will they have a better life in the future or will they also be discriminated? Meanwhile, Ada and Kabir become friends and together they learn to play the violin, bonding their worlds through music.

Filmography
Macarena Ovalle was born in Santiago, Chile in 1980.She obtained her diploma in Journalism the year 2004 at the Universidad Diego Portales. She worked at the Nueva Imagen Production House and at channel EtcTV as journalism producer and director’s assistant until 2006 when she left for Barcelona. She collaborated in selecting documentary material for the Docupolis Festival in 2006. In 2008 she obtained a Masters degree in Documentary Film and Society at ESCAC, where she also directed her first documentary called “Ada and Kabir”. Television Española bought the rights for the exhibition of the film. Today she works as director’s assistant for the In Edit Chile Festival, while she works on a documentary project that deals with young Chileans in Barcelona prisons.
